I have always had a passion for serving others, whether it is in my church, my community or my workplace. My first job was at age 16 when I became an STNA and I loved it from the moment I started. I loved to be a part of improving the lives of those who could no longer care for themselves. Being able to work alongside of others who love caring for others just as much I do is truly a blessing. There is a sense of family that you can’t get in any other career.
There are so many but the one that sticks out the most is when we were playing music one day and several of our residents got up to dance their hearts out. Residents in wheelchairs were given assistance to stand so they could dance like they once could. To see them come alive inside through their smiles and dance moves just melted my heart. Employees and residents sang and danced until we couldn’t go anymore and I wouldn’t have changed that moment for the world. Growing old isn’t about sitting in your room and staring out a window, it’s about living life to the fullest. I am blessed to be a part of their journey.
The smiles. I look forward to the smiles of both my employees and my residents. Carriage Inn of Steubenville is a homelike environment where everyone is family. Employees work together as a team to make sure our residents are taken care of with the respect and dignity they deserve. This is what makes coming to Carriage Inn of Steubenville so enjoyable.
My favorite thing to do outside of work is spending time with my family and friends. I love to spend Saturdays going to garage sales and shopping with my friends. I also love traveling with my family to various sporting events such as hockey, racing, football or basketball games.
