Capital Health Care NetworkCapital Health Home Care in Dublin, Ohio Now 4.5 Star Agency

Aug 23, 2016

DUBLIN, Ohio – CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) has designated Capital Health Home Care in Dublin a four and half star agency for quality of care ranking the agency in the top 5% of Medicare-certified home health providers in the nation.

CMS began ranking Medicare-certified agencies using a 5-star system last summer. According to Josh Poltilove, who covers home healthcare for Decision Health, the new star ratings are easier for consumers to understand and they are working to motivate agencies to make improvements in quality of care. The most recent Home Health Compare ratings released in July indicate that agencies are making improvements in several areas including dyspnea, ambulation, and medication management.

All Medicare-certified agencies are under pressure to improve performance with the expectation of value based purchasing on the horizon but our agencies are exceeding expectations and we couldn’t be prouder, said Kara Bernsen, Chief of Network Development at Capital Health Care Network. Capital Health Care Network includes two 4.5 star agencies in Ohio, one in Dublin and another in Ashtabula. Lisa Brown, Chief Operating Officer of the Home Care & Hospice Division at Capital Health Care Network, attributes the success to strong clinical oversight and a commitment to excellence.
